Field Notes

Description:

Small black goose from breast, back and to head.Black bill and eyes. Underside has dark barring over white from belly then white to tail. This one has a white ring when most will have like a necklace.

Habitat:

Breeds in the Arctic in Summer and Winter along the coast. Spotted in a marsh area some of the time but today was found on land.

Notes:

This one seems to have become a resident bird that hangs out with resident Canada Geese.
