This could also be a juvenile or subadult. They lack blue markings of any kind, and wouldn't have the dark barring of the adult females.
Here's a demonstration of the difference between the belly scales of male and female Sceloporus lizards (though these are a TX species): http://www.sbs.utexas.edu/halldw/bio455l/files/Lifelist/RepAmp/Larger/Sceloporus_serriferL2.jpg
http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6889516 This is the male i spottted. This is how it had blue on it's pattern. Maybe i should also try and look at their bellies.
The females lack the blue bellies, it's one of the easier ways to tell the males and females apart.
http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6866672 This is how a female I found looked. If these are blue bellied ,i never saw any blue on their bellies.
I think yours is a female: http://genea.smugmug.com/Animals-other-than-birds/Snakes-Lizards-Turtles-and/1278134_PthxVP/1/138356545_ZfUud#!i=138356545&k=ZfUud&lb=1&s=A
