Wonder if the gator is aware of the presence of the Egret. it is so light weight. Smart bird. it is standing right at the rear end.

I watch a little bit of everything and only have alligators in the southeast corner of my state (far from me). I see a bit of compromise with the listing as being the egret, yet in the reptile category. That adds some balance to the spotting. :-)

Goody, That might have something to do with it, but I think it's more conditioning from a lifetime of watching birds, not alligators. Probably compounded by the fact that we have very few alligators here in California :)

Donna, that's because the bird is prey and stands out, while the predator has lovely cryptic coloration.

Move over Honey Badger. The Snowy Egret is the new most fearless. Well, maybe just this one. Great shot!!!
