Field Notes

Description:

This hairy female huntsman would have had a span of 20 mm. She was positioned beside her silky web and didn't move far when photographed. The way she held her front legs and the pattern of her eyes - 2 rows of 4 each indicated that she was a huntsman. <br> Her body was covered with stiff short hairs and had a scattering of brown black and white spots. The dorsal side of her adomen had an upside down leaf-shaped pattern with dark brown margins.

Habitat:

Spotted on a gum leaf on a tree in a strip of regenerated native vegetation.

Notes:

Family: Sparassidae
