Field Notes

Description:

Blue-green to light green in colour. Around 15 to 20 cm long with red beak. Feet adapted for climbing. The male have rings around their necks whereas the females do not.

Habitat:

These blue -green parrots are habituated to live in urban areas and are commonly spotted in the Indian cities of North India. A variety of fruits, seeds and sometimes even cooked food is consumed by them. They are very often caged and is popular as pets.
