Description:

A wonderful Bumble Bee Mimic! Black with long yellow hair on the thorax and abdomen with a central orange band of hair on the abdomen. The long heavy beak for nectar feeding is visible in pictures 2 and 6. The antennae are dark and the wings are clear. Flower Fly, Family Syrphidae. Habitat:

Found on Daisies grown in wooden planters along the dock area, Ketchikan, Alaska.
