Field Notes

Description:

Group of black ants found sitting quietly. It was a strange thing to see the ants being so quiet with out any activity in different spots. They were as if meditating.

Habitat:

Spotted in a semi dessert bushy area in northern part of India. They become more active soon after first rains.

Notes:

They were about slightly less than an Inch in length. There were plenty of other similar ants but smaller in size found busy lining up their ant holes. Where as these ants were sitting tight in different spots.
