Description:

Mosquito under the microscope. Small, soft bodied insect. Long legs, single pair of wings, Female with stilettolike mouthparts. Showing head, wings, legs and body parts. Last images shows compound eyes and mouth parts.

Habitat:

This mosquito was discovered in pond water I brought into the house in a test tube. Eggs are laid in temporary pools. Very tiny insect.

Notes:

Of interest: the mosquito which rests with its body tilted may carry diseases.
