Field Notes

Description:

The crab is small and digs burrows in beaches. The burrows are under water at high tide. Its carapace is usually about 25 mm wide. They are well camouflaged in the sand as long as they stand still. When we walked along the seashore they ran into a hole in the snad. Then we saw that there are quite many of them.

Habitat:

On the beach.
