Field Notes

Description:

Roughly oval, quite large. The "designs" or pores are readily visible. White.

Habitat:

Ross Island. On the coast. The coral is obviously dead. It is not permitted to remove even a tiny bit of coral or a sea shell picked up from the beach, so obviously it has been here for a while...may be the waves brought it from far or maybe it died nearby.
