Description:

Is this a chanterelle? Very white and pretty.

Habitat:

Coastal woodlands of Florence, OR

Not a chanterelle. This fungus has true gills, the thin sheets of flesh hanging from the cap. A chanterelle would only have ridges on its underside. This looks like a species of Lactarius or possibly a Russula.
