Field Notes

Description:

A small to medium sized deciduous tree often to 10-15ft, but occasionally to 30ft. Being a member of the legume family, the tree is a nitrogen-fixer. The beautiful red flower, born en masse during warm months, have a sort of pea flower-like look to them.

Habitat:

Planting in Waikiki, Hawaii
