Field Notes

Description:

Deep orange underside. Mostly grey with some black body with black on the wings. The head is more black than grey with a bright yellow beak. Yellow feet.

Habitat:

The morning and the evenings are in the grass while the rest of the day is in the woods.

Notes:

In the evenings it was fun to watch them plucking up large earthworms. This particular male finished hunting and rested in the tree. They showed off and preened while I took pictures.
