Description:

4" tall wildflower with multiple tiny white flowers on a red stem.

Habitat:

Stillhouse Falls Hollow, Tennessee.

That is the odd part, they are supposed to be evergreen.
Thanks Chester. I don't recall seeing any leaves so maybe they were killed by a hard frost?
I think it is just the blooms Craig as you can see the anthers on the end of the stamen But I have no idea of the species!
That's very interesting Karen! Looks like some kind of parasite but may just be blooming before the leaves develop. Whatever it is, I'd like to know too!
