Description:

On a fine saturday morning, I was out for bird photography with friends near Harohalli Lake, Bangalore, India. It was one of those perfectly bright days to get some good photographs. The sky was blue & in that misty morning we sighted a kingfisher near a waterhole, and we were waiting for the right opportunity to click a few pics.
Suddenly on the moist ground I saw this beautiful creature for the first time in my life - a blue dragonfly!! I was overjoyed with the sighting & forgot all about the kingfisher and focused my lens on this wonderful being. I was mesmerized by its color and clicked a few pics before it flew away....I am really glad I could see this beauty up so close. It is one of those best surprises of my life! Cheers, Chandan

Notes:

I googled about this insect and found it is commonly called as damselfly. The sighting of these are more in the US and Britain. I did not find much material to read of its sightings or its photographs taken in India.

The scientific name is Enallagma cyathigerum (?) I'm not too sure.
