Field Notes

Description:

Very distinct markings compared to some chipmunks! Love the facial definition created by the black and white stripes. Nice rust colour on the flanks.

Habitat:

Native chipmunk feeding on seeds beside the path at the Beaver Pond, Manning Park, BC. Within a fraction of a second of this photo, he had totally disappeared! North Cascade Mountains.

Notes:

Species of Least Concern on Red List.
