Very cool! I volunteer for the Birds of Prey Foundation. We are primarily rehab and education and are not open to the public. We do have a handful of educational birds. I haven't been trained to handle them yet, but soon hopefully!
What a coincidence! I volunteer at the Cascades Raptor Center in Eugene, Oregon. We have a rehab center as well as a number of resident raptors open to the public. We also do a whole lot of education programs around the area :)
I think I take them for granted! I am thankful for my wild neighbors! I volunteer for a raptor center here in Colorado! Where is your rehab center?
Thanks Emily :) Also, it's cool you have one of these living close to you. I live in the suburbs, and red tails prefer the fields on the city limits, so I don't get to see wild ones often.
Also, I love your profile picture Braelei!
Thanks! It might be the lighting in the picture. He is more of a redish brown though! This guy/gal lives in the field near my house. I should name him "chicken" because the moment he sees me coming, he's out of there!
Stunning! He's got quite the red 'mask.' I haven't seen that pattern before.
