Field Notes

Description:

Spike clusters with yellow flowers. Each leaf divides into 3 narrow, toothed lance-shaped leaflets.

Habitat:

Spotted on Tamarac NWR at the Chippewa Picnic area. Found along roads, open fields, wet or dry sunny sites.

Notes:

Invasive plant from Europe, via Eurasia. It was once grown as a hay crop, but escaped and now grows throughout Minnesota.
