You're welcome. I knew it wasn't our coastal variety, but I couldn't find a definitive reference for the freshwater kind.
Thanks, Nance - the direction lead me to Flabellifera, which are found in freshwater. Ligia are coastal isopoda living partly terrestial as well as in saltwater.
It looks like a slater (Ligia, terrestrial isopod)
