Description:
The eastern towhee is a large and striking species of sparrow. The male is black above and rufus below with some white on the edges of the wings. Towhees have red eyes.
Habitat:
Spotted at the Tarkiln Bayou State Park. Pine and oak forest with coastal sand dunes.
