Field Notes

Description:

Orange, slimy, and only found on this particular fallen tree.

Habitat:

It was raining on and off for a few days in the area, so the woods were cool and damp. Only around 65°F and they seemed to be quite healthy.

Notes:

I'm no expert on mycology but these were some of the most beautiful fungi I've ever seen. I tried getting an ID through a Mycology page on FB but to no avail since I didn't think to get a clear shot of the underside of the cap, or the stems. Hopefully someone can give me a positive ID on these beauties!
