Field Notes

Description:

This looks like a juvenile male (brown bill with yellow edges). All brown bird, this one looks a bit darker than usual; with pale streaks on flanks and back; and pale blotches on chest.

Habitat:

Common Eurasian species, often seen in wooded areas. Here, in Etournel marshes, located on the border between France and Switzerland, in rural lands close to Geneva suburbs, in the valley of lake Geneva. These marshes are very close to banks of river Rhône; and are protected under the Natura 2000.
