Field Notes

Description:

Brown forewings with orange areas, black eyespots with white center, hindwings brown, sometimes with little dots on the hindwings underside.

Habitat:

Vast distribution habitats, broadly are forest edge, forest-steppe and meadow steppe habitats up to 2,000 m above sea level, cultivated lands (meadow, forest plantations, parks, orchards).
This one on the roadside near the forest.

Notes:

Pretty common species, saw many of them. My guess is this one's a female (more colorful, bigger eyespots). Also has two "pupils".
I think maybe one of it's wings has been pecked at by a bird.
