Field Notes

Description:

approx 3 inches across, eyes are different on forewings and hindwings.

Habitat:

Flitting around the rice field that was just ready to be harvested. The family said that there were "worms" in the rice and it would not be a good crop. Wonder if the "worms" were related to this butterfly? I didn't see the worms which I wondered if might be caterpillars?
Photo #3 shows where the photos were taken.

Notes:

About 95 kms east of Phnom Penh towards VietNam.

thanks for the ID Daniele! It will take me a bit of reading to see what the caterpillars feed on, but it will be fun to check it out.
