Field Notes

Description:

Gray fledgling found on the ground in a shrubby patch. I heard chirping in the bush then I peaked in and found bird sitting on the ground, refusing to move. My guess is it is a gray catbird, based on the adult bird I heard nearby.

Habitat:

shruby woodland

Species ID Suggestions

Note the bare lores, which are a dead giveaway that this is a Brown-headed Cowbird. I study Gray Catbirds.
