Description:

This delicate beauty stumped us - if you don't know what point in it's lifespan the specimen is, ID becomes very difficult! We weren't even sure if it was a flower, or fungus, or magical thing. We now know it's a Pleated Inkcap mushroom, at the end of it's (very short) life cycle.

Habitat:

I am unsure of the range, this was found in the forest in Northern Virginia.
