Canadian goose

Well, this is from last year, of course, but I assume that, at least until they can fly on their own, they'll get fed by their parents, like most birds in the nest. We tend to think of baby waterfowl as more independent than other birds, because they aren't confined to a nest and can paddle about in the water almost from birth. But at that young age, although they can eat plants on their own, they aren't capable yet of catching anything else on their own (crawfish, insects, etc.)
