Field Notes

Description:

It measures about 83 cm long and weighs 2.7 kg. The male is black with a white belly region and the female has striped black plumage of white, black head and neck, chest cinnamon and beige belly.

Habitat:

Inhabits the gallery forest floor and dense forests edges. Present in Brazil's southern Amazon River to the states of São Paulo, Paraná and Minas Gerais. Also found in Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.
