Field Notes

Description:

This large rabbit is the third largest in the USA. It has a distinctive black tip on the tail and ears. It is brown with black hairs on the top and sides of the body with a lighter underside. I only got off three photos before it went out of sight in the flowers.

Habitat:

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park where it just hopped right in front of me on a path near the trailhead.
