Field Notes

Description:

This Leopard moth is about 1.75" long. It was losing it's scales giving it a different look. The body has some orange colors as does the caterpillar of this genus. There are over 80 species in the Amercias.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica at the beginning of the dry season.

Notes:

Shot take at night near a fluorescent light.
