Field Notes

Description:

Small trees or shrubs. Branches are thin and upright. Flowers vary in color and are usually shades of pink, white, or red. Blooms appear from early April to mid-June. The apples themselves are either red or yellow and are smaller than normal-sized apples.

Habitat:

Native to the temperate regions of North America, Europe and Asia. Full sun is preferred, but light shade is okay. Grows on medium to heavy soil.
