Field Notes

Notes:

Noticed a plethora of woodpecker borings in an old black willow tree. I'm assuming it from a Pileated Woodpecker from the size and the fact that several have been sighted in this area.

Super photo showing the impact of woodpeckers, Jim! We used it for the Eyes on Central PA mission and incorporated it into this post about woodpeckers in Pennsylvania. Did you know that if you have several woodpeckers attacking your siding, it could mean that you have an insect infestation? http://www.wearecentralpa.com/story/d/story/the-sign-of-the-woodpecker/18461/XKsg6CnRbUyR21dWF2eHxg
