Field Notes

Description:

Unlike most vultures, the bearded vulture does not have a bald head. The adult is mostly dark gray, rusty and whitish in color. It is grey-blue to grey-black above. Red eyelids.

Habitat:

It breeds in high mountains in southern Europe, the Caucasus, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and Tibet.
This specimen lives in Pairi Daiza, Belgium.

One of my favorite vultures! Beautiful shot!
Thanks for the compliments! It is captive so the bird was only a few meters away. I have a camera with a good zoom, and ideally for photo dummies like me. Is Olympus SP-820UZ :-)
