Field Notes

Description:

Gray rodent with a fleshy tail, brown nose black eyes and white underside.

Habitat:

Fields, more precisely cotton fields. They get their name from the nests they build are made of cotton.

Notes:

I spotted this at St Marks National Wildlife Reserve. There was an explosion of these rats. I've never seen them and then all of a sudden there were about a dozen.
