Field Notes

Description:

Large terrestrial tortoise, also known as Sulcata tortoise, dome shaped carapace, 80 to 90 cm long and about 50 cm in height. This is a third-largest species of tortoise in the world and the largest of the mainland tortoises.

Habitat:

Seen in Nairobi National Park, roaming freely at the outskirts of wooded area.
