Field Notes

Description:

White mushroom with conical cap of small perpendicular height relative to its width. The stalk and annulus were brown, the gills slightly greenish. There were remnants of the universal veil on the cap. Dimensions: ~ 150 mm tall, cap diameter ~ 80 mm, stalk diameter ~ 10 mm.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood on tropical upland plateau.

Notes:

Spotted growing at the edge of a strip of lawn between the sidewalk and street at the edge of a driveway in a suburban development, and located within a couple of feet of where another Chlorophyllum molybdites was spotted two weeks previously, suggesting a well-established mycelium in the area.
