Field Notes

Description:

It has a length of approximately 85 cm and a wingspan of 120 cm and weighing up to 2.2 kg. These birds have all black body with a white area on the wings. Males have a unique feature: the red bare skin around the eyes.

Habitat:

They can be found throughout Brazil, living in small groups of up to a dozen. Perch on bare trees to observe the surroundings, relax or even sleep.
