Description:

Caterpillar 1 1/16" long. Fat with white face upsode down triangular marking w black eye marks on either side.

Habitat:

Hudson Valley NY. On the edge of road amongst plantain and wild carrot (queen annes lace).

Black Swallowtail

Papilio polyxenes

Old World Swallowtail

Papilio machaon

Although they look similar, Papilio machaon is not found in North America.
