Field Notes

Description:

Cap: Largest approximately 5 cm across; approximately 1 mm thick; flexible; bracket-shaped in rows along, or on tope of the branch; sometimes fused with other caps and growing in rosettes on tope of branch; velvety; mainly gray with a narrow white margin.
Pore Surface: White; with 4 or tiny pores per mm.

Habitat:

Growing on branch on south-facing slope, in full sun, above year-round drainage to Appalachee River.
