Field Notes

Description:

Large. Broad snout. Powerful tail.

Habitat:

Freshwater lake in Tadoba-Andheri national park where most people focus only on tigers.Interestingly, deer drank fearlessly nearby and wading birds also walked around. I waited for one to clean its teeth...but no luck.

Notes:

Vulnerable population status.
