Cep

No distinctive smell or taste, growing under birch. It was up to 20cm tall and the stipe was huge possibly 8cm across! On cutting only the flesh of the cap changed colour to a pale vinaceus red, purple or pink, I think the change was almost instantaneous although might be remembering wrong. There seems to be white reticulation on the stipe towards the cap (2nd photo), the 4th photo shows a different pattern near the base.
