Field Notes

Description:

Rock Thrush of some kind. Head is blue. Black band over eye. Body is dark chestnut coloured.

Habitat:

Neora Valley Jungle Camp. About 3 hours drive from the coordinates shown. Remote hilly forested area. Himalayan foothills. The Camp guys have put up wooden/bamboo benches with awnings over them so that one can sit and enjoy the view even if it is raining. This bird is using the bamboo supports on the undersurface of the "roof"as a perch.

Notes:

This bird has found a safe perch for the night...apparently a regular visitor.
