Field Notes

Description:

A grebe that looks similar to the western grebe and it resembles it in size, range and behavior. In pic #5 I was able to capture both in a frame (the Clark's Grebe is on top). Notable differences: The white plumage on the head of Clark's grebe extends above the eye. Also, Clark's grebe has a whiter flank and a more yellow bill than the Western grebe.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in Utah.
