Field Notes

Description:

A very attractive spider, like a miniature tarantula, about 15 mm long (rough estimate), walking on a dirt road at 10 am. One of the photographs contains the toe of my size 12 rubber boot, for size reference. Orange and black pattern on the abdomen.

Habitat:

Second growth dry forest (dense shrubby scrub forest).

Notes:

At the Zamorano University agroecology farm (Finca Santa Inés), in the Yeguare River valley. Altitude 800 meters above sea level (Pacific slope).
