Description:

A very large dark colored wasp. Very covered in pollen. All these wasps of many different species visit the goldenrod meadow in late summer around here. There is surprisingly little aggression. I guess there is LOTS of food at this point.

normally you can begin to identify grass carrying wasps by the color of the hairs on the thorax. It looks as if the one in the picture has white hair. https://greennature.com/thread-waisted-wasps/
