Field Notes

Description:

Red eyes, gold body. Wings have black and clear translucent bands. Wings were rotating in all directions as it walked around.

Habitat:

Found in my vegetable garden.

Thanks pcooper and Ornithoptera. I don't know why I posted this as a bee. I certainly knew it was a fly. I spotted a picture winged fly on July 26 and knew this ones behavior was familiar but just couldn't come up with picture winged.
