Field Notes

Description:

Adults similar growing up to 18cm, olive/grey back, head, wings, tail slightly darker, yellow stripe under the eyes is lined on each side by black stripe, white tuft at end of stripe also small white tuft directly above eye and small white snip near beak, belly is lighter grey flecked colour, dark beak.

Habitat:

Found throughout eastern Australia and around into SA, prefers dry to wet schlerophyll forests and follows tree flowering seasons to feed on nectar.
