Field Notes

Description:

This is a medium sized predominantly pale grey dove of arid areas, chest and underparts of rose-grey color. From close, a pale ring around the eye can be seen.

Habitat:

This is a common African bird, resident and local migrant in arid and semi-arid areas, found in areas adjacent to sub-Saharan arid lands belts - here seen in a region of Kanem (Chad) in a small village in rural area.

Notes:

In a third photo, sharing a tree with a Laughing Dove (in background).
