It seems like it is either a Red Back Salamander or a Two-Lined Salamander.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Yes it did have a bright yellow underbelly.
Two-lined, not tow-lined :P
I would suggest tow-lined. Red backs, when they don't have a red back, are more black than the yellow-brown you have here. Did you get a look at the underbelly? If it was a two lined it should have been bright yellow.
