Field Notes

Description:

Some had stripes of purple, and most had margins that looked the webbed feet of ducks. Very plentiful along this coastal area, forming small beaches, bars, and islands from the old, empty shells.

Habitat:

This healthy looking community of oysters were growing on rocks and mangrove prop roots. They were even forming small islands that you could walk on. Salt marsh area with lots of mangroves
